The important thing is to first define the limits of the project, this includes understanding target audience, defining commercial goals, content requirements and functional specifications.

Research

02 | Analysis

Research is the core of my process, I love to look into expected and unexpected areas to provide as a springboard for thinking, that provides a path and clear direction for us to push and shape design and creative. Whether that’s conversation, interviews, references, competitor analysis, it helps guide the thinking of myself and the people I work with. 

My ultimate goal with every project is to come up with a solution-based design approach to help my clients achieve commercial needs.

03 | Development

Design

Good design is ‘thoughtful’; design that thinks about audiences, marketplaces and commercial goals. It is considered, rather than visually superficial, appropriate rather than self-indulgent. It has a reason for being, and responds to strategic goals. Commercial design is helping a client fulfil their objectives.

To ensure that the right balance of these components is maintained I always stay in close contact with strategy teams and managers.

04 | Restospectives

Reflect

Often taking time to look back at the work to understand what were the key points that helped it succeed and what could be done better next time.

It helps each member of the team have value, respect and an ability to hold a deeper conversation about each other’s work and also, in turn, to inform each others work the right way.
